Creating this piece was quite thrilling for me, as it had been a few weeks since I had created an oil pastel piece. I had looked at stock images of people in all kinds of poses, when I decided to just put pastel to paper and create pale blue guidelines. With this I wanted the freedom of change over the process whilst still keeping realistic proportions, as this is something I have wanted to develop over lockdown.
The colour scheme was pre-planned as I created various colour stories in the back of my personal sketchbook, with help from a colour wheel I selected what you see here.
This piece is reminiscent of how I feel, whilst trying to be creative, during lockdown and the struggle to self motivate during these times becoming extremely difficult.
